Happy Friday

This is another one of the found photos from the bag. This is taken in Hawaii. That is my grandfather on the right. At first, I thought that this sailor was particularly tall. It turns out that my grandfather was particularly short. When I mentioned the picture, my Mom knew who the sailor was. My grandfather owned a bar and restaurant in Chinatown in Honolulu. It was frequented by many a sailor. I never knew my grandparents. My grandmother died when my mother was 10. My grandfather died before I was born. I only know them through the many photographs I have seen and stories I have heard.

What a nostalgic, lovely photograph! Chinatown in Honolulu is still such a treasure trove...there are many indie art galleries and boutiques springing up. I'm sure your grandfather would be very proud :)
