Loop Lundi

In order to try and take in some holiday sights without the crowds I decided that Monday would be a good day to head down to the loop. The picture above is the view from our seats at lunch.
First stop...Beard Papa! Oh, it is such a good thing I never went to this place when it first arrived in Chicago. It would be so dangerous to live or work nearby. These cream puffs are incredibly good.

I had to make my Mom pose with the puff.

Next it was over to Macy's for lunch. Even though I am a die hard Marshall Field's customer, I went to look at the tree in the old Walnut Room restaurant. I still protest in silence.

This is the tree that sits in the middle of the Walnut Room. I am not posting my picture of the top of the tree because it is out of focus. So, let's start with the middle.

The tree has a music theme this year. As you can see, there are tables directly next to the tree which are highly coveted.

I am not sure what the wait was, but there were tons of people in line as well as those walking around with their little "buzzers" awaiting their table.

We did not go to the Walnut Room, but went to Takashi to get some miso ramen and spring rolls.

Next stop was the Christkindl Market over at Daley Plaza.

The annual market offers all things German and Christmas related. Beer, Glogg, stollen, potato pancakes, bratwurst, ornaments, German candy and cakes.....

After doing some shopping as well, I was ready to head home. Pretty good for a Monday.

That looks like so much fun! And we need more photos of your mom with food.
